How to find where a child meal card is accepted

A child meal card works only at stores registered by the local government. Where you look up that list differs by card, and the Naviyam app maps participating stores near you.

Can it be used at convenience stores and restaurants?

Each local government decides which business types are eligible. Busan, for example, covers bakeries, convenience stores, Korean, Western, Japanese and Chinese restaurants, fast food, and general eateries. The approved list differs by region, so check your local rule.

Some items, such as alcohol and tobacco, cannot be purchased.

Where and what it cannot buy

Payment fails at stores that are not registered. Even at a registered store, items outside the purpose of the support — alcohol and tobacco, for example — are restricted. Mixing non-food items into the same purchase can get the whole transaction declined, so it is safer to split them.

The approved business types and restricted items are set locally, so they differ by region. Checking whether a store you visit often is covered saves awkwardness at the till.

If you run a store

Becoming a registered meal card store is handled by the local government. Joining Naviyam on top of that puts the store on the app map and lets it take online orders and payments, so a child does not have to come in person.

There is no fee to join, and you can apply directly on the Naviyam store application page.

FAQ

Can it be used at a restaurant that is not registered?
No — only at stores registered by the local government. Some regions, such as Gwangju, link to the card issuer's merchant network and so cover far more places.
What if there are no participating stores nearby?
Look for stores that accept online orders in the Naviyam app. If nothing fits, you can ask your local welfare office to add stores.
How can a store join Naviyam?
Apply directly on the Naviyam store application page. Once approved, the store accepts meal card payments and appears in the Naviyam app. Apply to join Naviyam
